Know your role & stay in your lane!

Great advice for all married couples, regardless of race.  We all have designated roles to play in our relationships, but far too many husbands and wives don't know their roles.  Want a successful marriage?  Then know your role, take on the responsibility and stay in your lane!

Husbands ~ lead your families, set the vision for your households, clearly communicate your goals and direction to your spouse, be willing to sacrifice and take full responsibility for the outcomes of your decisions.

Wives~ submit, surrender, conserve your energy, be his lover and supporter.

Dual participation will help guarantee a bliss filled life together

  1. This is definitely an issue, especially within the African American community. Some women have had to learn to be more independent, and have allowed this to make them think they should be the head of the household. This is especially true in cases where the woman brings in a higher income. Some men are feeling emasculated by this and are responding accordingly. It's pertinent that we observe and learn from those couples that have been married for 20+ and 30+ years. Talk to them. Ask them what they've learned and how they've reached such large milestones within their relationships. Share the knowledge.
